Galería América: Walk the Walk Week @ ILS
Galeri A Ame Rica Sign 2

Visit the Institute for Latino Studies' Galería América as Notre Dame celebrates Walk the Walk week this month.
Walk the Walk week is a campus-wide commemoration that builds on Martin Luther King Jr. Day to bring students, faculty and administrators together as a community dedicated to racial and ethnic justice.
As part of its engagement with the Arts, the Institute for Latino Studies maintains a permanent collection of paintings, prints and photographs by contemporary Latinx artists. We currently feature exhibits by exciting creators such as Esperanza Gama, Lalo Alcaraz , Vladimir Cybil Charlier, Maria Tomasula, and others.
Charlier's exhibit, our newest addition, features innovative conflations of historical Pan-African figures and Afro-Caribbean deities. "Pantheón: When the Saints go Marching" challenges viewers with its melding of characters and stories depicted on mixed-media drapos (hanging textiles).
A walk through Galería América is sure to provoke and inspire during this time of contemplation and community-building. Make sure to take a tour of these wonderful exhibits.
