Who’s at the Table? First Person Stories on Identity and Culture

Join ISSA as we talk about unexpected explorations of identity and culture at Notre Dame, especially for those living in the U.S for the first time. We have invited two students -  Linh Nguyen, a Ph.D. from Vietnam, and John Prendergast, an Foreign Fulbright Program (FLTA) from Ireland, to share the ways in which their encounters with U.S. and Notre Dame culture have inspired reflections on their story, identity, and culture. Through a moderated conversation to a guided dialogue, we hope these raw first person reflections will leave you inspired and energized. Who's at your table?

2019 Human Dignity lecture

The McGrath Institute for Church Life hosts the 2019 Human Dignity lecture, with world-renowned speaker, Obianuju “Uju” Ekeocha. Ms. Ekeocha is the founder and president of Culture of Life Africa, and author of “Target Africa: Ideological Neo-colonialism of the Twenty-first Century.” She has spoken before the United Nations and the Canadian Parliament. She has also appeared on the BBC’s “Focus on Africa.”

Ecumenical Common Prayer

Location: Basilica of the Sacred Heart

All are welcome to join the Notre Dame community and guests from around the world in praying for unity among Christians. This ecumenical prayer service will be led by members of the Notre Dame community. The homily will be preached by Rev. Canon Hugh Page, Jr., Vice President and Associate Provost for Undergraduate Affairs. Honored guests will include senior leaders from the Anglican, Lutheran, Methodist, Reformed, and Roman Catholic communities.

A reception will follow in the Main Building.

Run Forrest Run 5/10K for the Gary Sinise Foundation

Time: Sat Mar 30, 2019, 9:30 am - 12:15 pm

The 5th Annual Run Forrest Run 5/10K kicks off at 9:30 a.m. on the Notre Dame campus. 
Run for the Real Lt. Dans and support the Gary Sinise Foundation’s work on behalf of our nation’s veterans, active military, and first responders.

The course passes Notre Dame’s iconic landmarks, while starting and ending at a display of 800 American flags on the south Library Quad. Stay for a post-race celebration with finish-line food, overall race awards, and 56 age group winner medals.
