This guided devotion will use the Snite Museum’s collection of George Tooker’s preparatory drawings for a Stations series he painted for St. Francis of Assisi Church in Windsor, Vermont in 1984. Fiestang returns this spring, and Filipino American Student Organization is bringing our very own balikbayan box to Notre Dame. The balikbayan box arose in the 1980s as a Filipino version of a care package, meant for Filipinos who have been abroad for many years to provide for their families back home. These care packages were essentially their only link to home, and receiving one brought much joy in these workers’ lives.
