SETTING THE TONE: USING THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS TO ESTABLISH NORMS FOR SAFETY, CONVERSATIONS, AND COMMUNITY (INTENDED FOR GRADUATE TAS)

In this workshop, participants will explore strategies for designing a productive first day of class. In order to “set the tone” for the semester, we will discuss how instructors might: implement safety regulations and mask policies, facilitate difficult conversations with their students, and use interactive learning within a socially distanced classroom.
