Mark Miller, composer, church musician, and social justice advocate, will perform two festivals of his music in the South Bend region including a newly commissioned work, Come, Dove of Heaven. 

The first concert, titled Sacred Songs and Social Justice, will focus on music that speaks to issues of inclusion and the diversity of the community of God. Included will be Miller’s songs I Choose Love, I Believe, and We Resist. The event includes hymns for the congregation to sing and will be co-led by Hillary Doerries and Emorja Roberson.

A second concert of Mark Miller’s music titled, Draw the Circle Wide, will be led by the Notre Dame Children’s Choir on Saturday, May 4 at 3pm at First United Methodist Church in downtown South Bend. This event will unite children from the Notre Dame Children’s Choir will guests from the community to sing music about God’s encompassing spirit. Songs include Christ has Broken Down the WallMore Love, Draw the Circle Wide, and a newly commissioned work Come, Dove of Heaven. If you have a child between the ages of 7 and 17 who is interested in singing in a free, day-long festival and concert with the Notre Dame Children’s Choir, visit sma.nd.edu to register.
